1. Consider turning off your stop tap at your water meter (by turning it clockwise).
This will prevent a large bill if you have a water leak while you are away and the burst pipe goes undetected. Make sure no appliances are reliant on water, including your hot water system.
2. Make sure all taps are properly turned off (including garden taps and hoses).
3. Clear leaf litter from downpipes and gutters.
4. Check your downpipe is correctly connected to stormwater not the sewer, and clear your overflow relief gully of debris to prevent overflows.
4. Flush the toilet to clear the sewerage pipes.
