Have your say on Unitywater’s Netserv Connections Areas Minor Amendment

Unitywater has undertaken its annual review of its Water and Wastewater Connections Areas and is proposing a minor amendment to our Water Netserv Plan 2024-29.

Since the last update to our Connections Area, there have been about 7,500 properties that have connected to our water network, and 22,000 properties to our wastewater network. We are intending to update our Connections Areas to reflect these newly connected properties as well as connected properties under a connection approval. No changes have been made to the Future Connections Area, with the next review of the Future Connections Area currently scheduled for 2029.

Consultation is now open and closes on Wednesday 18 November 2026.

We are now inviting public submissions, seeking feedback to ensure recently connected properties and properties given approval to connect have been correctly identified. If you would like to make a submission or if you have any questions on this amendment, please email netserv@unitywater.com

Water Netserv Plan

The Water Netserv Plan outlines Unitywater’s long-term planning and operational strategies supporting development and ensuring crucial water and wastewater services for our customers in the areas of Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast, and Noosa over the next 20 years.

The Water Netserv Plan is a requirement of the South-East Queensland Water (Distribution and Retail Restructuring) Act 2009. The connection area is reviewed annually, and the future connections area is reviewed once every five years. 

The 2024-2029 Water Netserv Plan includes an updated version of the Schedule of Works, Accelerated Infrastructure Schedule, Connection Area mapping, and planning assumptions, demonstrating how Unitywater is planning for future growth outside our connection area in a sustainable way.

The current Netserv Plan commenced on 20 December 2024.

  3. how we deliver the right infrastructure
  4. how we plan for the future.
