The trail covers 19 artworks on highly visible assets across Moreton Bay, the Sunshine Coast and Noosa, including water towers and reservoirs, and wastewater pump stations.
Unitywater Executive Manager Strategic Engagement, Joshua Zugajev, said while the artworks served a functional purpose of deterring graffiti, they also contributed to the liveability of communities.
“Our Community Art Program celebrates the environment, culture and heritage of our region,” he said.
“Our most recent artwork, on our Castaways Beach wastewater pump station in Noosa, includes local flora and fauna and the artist Tia Carrigan worked with Kabi Kabi Traditional Custodian Mack Muckan to incorporate culturally significant elements.
“Pack a picnic, jump in the car and become a local art admirer in your region. Our handy online map shows you where all the artworks are located so you can take your pick!”
Mr Zugajev said other large-scale artworks were located in Beachmere, Bongaree, Caboolture, Wamuran, Kallangur, Caloundra and Point Cartwright.
