In this round of the program, Unitywater is keen to hear from graduates who have studied civil, mechanical, environmental or process engineering, or information communication technology, for the workforce entry program that kicks off in February 2025, with a starting salary of $80,000.
Unitywater Executive Strategic Engagement Joshua Zugajev said the program provides a smooth transition from student to working professional, in a hands-on environment.
“Our Graduates do eight core rotations around the organisation based on their discipline, as well as non-core rotations based on other areas of interest, providing ongoing learning and a way to test their strengths and passions,” Mr Zugajev said.
“We’ve seen great success since the program started in 2013, with 52 graduates taking part and 30 of them still employed with us in permanent roles that range from engineering and accounting, to culture and safety.
“We are hoping to see at least 11 new graduates take part in our program next year, and with applications closing at 11pm this Sunday, anyone that would like to be considered should get in quick!”
Unitywater Process Engineer Angie van Walle said rotating through different areas of the organisation as a graduate, helped her pinpoint an area of specialisation after finishing her degree.
“I wasn’t sure where to start once I had finished my degree but having always wanted to live on the Sunshine Coast I jumped at the opportunity to apply for Unitywater’s program,” Ms van Walle said.
“While I’d always been interested in water from a sustainability perspective, I didn’t know the breadth and complexity of processes and role types that existed.
“I’m so grateful for the experiences I gained through the grad program and have never looked back.”
