    Smart network trial saves Stanthorpes water supplies and bills

    Unitywater and Southern Downs Regional Council’s network of smart sensors in Stanthorpe has prevented more than 32,000,000 litres being lost from the drought-prone community’s drinking water supplies and saved local residents and Council more than $90,000 since being installed in June 2023.

    Smoke to signal plumbing problems

    Unitywater has begun smoke testing parts of the Sunshine Coast’s wastewater network as part of its annual program to find and fix locations where stormwater can enter the wastewater network and cause overflows after heavy rain.

    New pipeline completed in Harmony

    Unitywater’s construction partners have completed installation of a new 2.6 kilometre pipeline set to increase the local water network’s capacity to deliver safe and reliable supply to the Sunshine Coast’s growing Harmony community, which is expected to be home to more than 21,000 people by 2036.

    Burpengary East upgrades treatment capacity for extra four million litres sewage per day

    Unitywater has commenced work to increase capacity of the Burpengary East Wastewater Treatment Plant by 30 per cent, supporting population and economic growth for the surrounding community.
