Your quarterly bill is an investment in today and tomorrow
Your bill supports the State Government's bulk water network, with some funds returned to local Councils to support other services in our region.
It also covers the cost of maintaining and growing our network, your water usage and wastewater treatment, ensuring we can continue to deliver you safe and reliable services.
Here is where every $100 goes:
$26 to the State Government
For bulk water charges – repaying investment in the SEQ Water Grid and funding daily operation of the network that catches, stores and treats water before it comes to our region. These costs are legally required to be passed on to our customers.
$27 for our operating costs
This covers our daily running costs like fuel, electricity and chemicals as well as the tools, machinery and vehicles our local teams use as they respond to faults 24/7, from Everton Hills to Eumundi.
$17 to local Councils
This covers interest on loans, tax equivalents and dividends returned to the City of Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa Councils. This supports delivery of their infrastructure and services like local roads, stormwater and libraries.
$30 to improve and expand infrastructure
An investment in pipes and pumps – renewing those already in the ground to ensure reliable services for existing customers, while expanding the network to welcome people to our rapidly growing region and meet the Queensland Government’s target of building 215 000 new homes in our region over the next 20 years.
