Before you apply for connection to our potable (drinking) or recycled water supply, you need to make sure services are available for your property. To find out, contact us.
Standard connections - 20mm or 25mm
If you are in the Moreton Bay region, you can apply to connect a potable or recycled water service by completing the application for water supply services form (PDF).
If you live in the Sunshine Coast region, use the application for water supply and sewerage services form (PDF).
Domestic connections are always 20mm. If you apply for a 25mm connection on a domestic property, we will need to assess the property prior to approving the installation.
If your residence has a connection smaller than 20mm, you can apply to have the standard connection installed by following the process for new connections.
Duplex properties usually require two separate connections. Please complete the application form for each property and we will advise you if there is a special condition for your property.
Large connections - Greater than 25mm
To apply for a potable or recycled water service greater than 25mm, you will need to submit a Water and Sewerage Supply Services - Private Works Application (PDF).
We will respond with a written quote within 15 working days. If you decide to proceed, you simply pay the fee advised in the quote.
We will then complete the installation within the timeframe specified on the quote.
Temporary connections
Large development sites or construction works can request a temporary water service. Please follow the processes outlined above according to the size of service you require.
Next steps
Once we have received your signed application and fee payment, we will schedule your property connection at the next available time. Standard connection timeframes are up to ten working days.
See our fees and charges for connection fee information.
Temporary disconnection
To turn off your water supply temporarily, we recommend you apply to install a lockable ball valve on your meter. This enables you to turn the water supply on or off when it suits you. Read more about locking your meter.
Permanent disconnection
If you would like to permanently disconnect the potable or recycled water meter on your property, simply complete the application form below and submit it along with your fee payment.
Standard connection: Application for disconnection, alteration, calibration or location of water service form (PDF)
To disconnect a water service greater than 25mm, you will need to submit an Water and Sewerage Supply Services - Private Works Application (PDF).
You will still see the water infrastructure charge on your account even after disconnection of the water meter. This is because your property still has access to the town water supply infrastructure even though you are not currently using it.
Please be aware that in order to reconnect the water supply, you will need to go through the normal application process for new connections and pay the connection fee.
